Bird-Friendly School Garden in Pécs

The purpose of the bird-friendly school garden of Éltes EGYMI Eco School in Pécs is to teach children with special educational needs through experience.  This project is supported by a HUF 1.500.000 grant from DDC.
In addition to the students of the Eco School, children attending the adjacent kindergarten as well as students of the Széchenyi István Elementary School, operated by the Hungarian Baptist Aid, will have access to the garden to be implemented through this project.

The delivery ceremony of the school garden was held on the 17th of May, which was attended by representatives of the school board as well as DDC. The participants of the event were greeted by Péter Páva, the director of the Pécs School District Centre, while on the behalf of DDC Ádám Müller, Deputy General Manager, shared his thoughts regarding the project. A DDC 2011 őszén indította útjára a Zöld Megoldás-pályázatot azzal a céllal, hogy forrást biztosítson a helyi közösségek önszerveződő kezdeményezései számára környezetük zöldebbé tételéhez és a helyi infrastruktúrák környezettudatosabb hasznosításához, valamint a természeti környezet megismerésének elősegítéséhez.
