Beremend Plant was filled with contesting youth!
In 2022, our Cement Plant in Beremend reopened its doors to determined high school students. In the framework of the Green Alternative Competition and Open Day, local students and their teachers were invited to compete together for valuable prizes with exciting puzzles this year.
We postponed the event for the past two years due to the coronavirus epidemic situation, but on 27 May this year, for the sixth time, the environmental competition was organized again. Last time the students of Vác got to know our Cement Plant in Vác, now it was the turn of the students living in and around Beremend.
This year's final took place in several locations: the competition began at the Cement Plant in Beremend, followed by the Kovácsműhely (Blacksmith's workshop) and the Beremend Quarry. The finishing clash took place at the Beremend Event Center. The final was preceded by an online section where the registered teams had to complete a questionnaire on DDC's environmental ambitions.
The top six best performing teams then fought for valuable prizes (such as Apple iPads and smartwatches) in the final. They needed all their knowledge to win, since they were expected to face unusual trials. The excitement (and, of course, the cheerful atmosphere) culminated in the fashion show of clothes made from cement bags and concrete jewelry made of DDC cement.
The teams' fan bases also participated at this station. In the final, the students of the Lajos Nagy Secondary School of the Cistercian Order, the "Észkövek" proved to be the best, the "CeMENTESEK" team of the Reformed College of Pécs finished second, and the "GeoPulzOS" team from Széchényi István Secondary School came third.
