Gyarmati Dezső Swimming Pool at Máriaremete

The construction of the Gyarmati Dezső Swimming Pool in Máriaremete began in the summer of 2018 which was a long-awaited development by the Pesthidegkút residents. The investor of the HUF 5.5 billion project was the District II local government.

In Budapest’s District II, under Máriaremete Street 224 A-Híd Zrt. constructed a swimming pool. Our company manufactured and supplied the concrete for the project. The District II local government envisioned a professionally designed swimming pool for the locals with sufficient capacity to meet larger residential needs. On the site, which covers an area of 20.524 m2, a central building with a span of 47.6 m and a barrel roof cover was built, while an outdoor pool was constructed at the back end of the estate, to be connected with the interior by a corridor. The main building houses a 51.5x25 m long, 220 cm deep, 10-lane waveless competition pool, which is suitable for TV-broadcasting and meets all FINA regulations. In addition to the competition pool, a 20x10 m long, 80-120 cm deep training pool, stands on both sides, a snack bar, and a fitness hall were also built.

The outdoor pool is 21x33.3 m long and 200 cm deep, and it is suitable for water polo matches as well. The pool is a monolithic reinforced concrete structure surrounded by a reinforced concrete floor, which includes the monolithic reinforced concrete strip foundation anchoring the tent structure, and the mechanical corridor necessary to erect the tent.

The structures of the swimming pool are made of monolithic reinforced concrete, using almost 10.000 m³ of C30/37-XC2-XA1-24-F3 concrete and 2.000 tons of rebar. The concrete demand of the project was provided by the Basa Street (District X), Hajóállomás Street (District IX) and Bojtár Street (District III) concrete plants of DDC. The competition pool is covered with steel beams and a curved barrel roof, while the stands are made of prefabricated elements resting on inclined monolithic reinforced concrete beams. The vertical support structure – in the basement as well in the first floor – is typically made of monolithic reinforced concrete walls and pillars. Visitors of the swimming pool can leave their cars in a 147-space parking lot.

The swimming pool was delivered in 2019.
