Reconstruction Works with Foam Concrete

The heavy rains experienced in late August 2015 did not spare Budapest either. The storm caused serious damages in several places in the infrastructure of the city. Probably on the account of the overloading of the water pipe under the asphalt pavement a fracture formed at Fővám square in district IX and a massive amount of water were pushed towards the surface. Because the pavement could not endure the pressure from underneath and collapsed, the water broke out. After the incident the concerned section of the road was immediately closed down and tramway transport was limited as well. The reconstruction works started soon, during which partial backfilling was carried out by the workers on the 26th and 27th of August 2015 with foam concrete manufactured and transported to the site by Duna-Dráva Cement Kft.
During the process foam concrete technology proved to be the best solution since because of its weight foam concrete can enter any rupture and fill the available space completely. This way the crew was able to carry out the backfilling of sub-pavement areas without breaking up the railway.  On the account of its easy manageability and quick workability its utilization does not require any special tools or skills and because of its favourable hardening and solidifying attributes it makes quick road pavement reconstruction possible. The density and solidity of hardened foam concrete can be flexibly adjusted, thus securing the wide usability of the special technology, which makes it perfect for pipe filling, injecting or cavity filling tasks or even everyday lightweight and sloped concrete production.
